Phelan Gardens has been serving the Colorado Springs region since 1981. Don and Sue Phelan had purchased and started the business of Sunset Greenhouse in 1977, with the help of their four kids. Having found success with Sunset, they expanded and purchased Phelan Gardens four years later. Monica and Mark, children of Don and Sue, currently oversee the business, and have nurtured tremendous growth (pun intended) for “Phelan’s” over the past four decades.
Throughout the years, Phelan Gardens has been a trusted source for flowers, vegetables, perennials, houseplants, water plants, trees, shrubs, pottery, and gardening supplies for the folks of the Pikes Peak region.

Earth Expressions was formed by Mark and Monica in 2009 to provide landscaping services to the customers of Phelan Gardens. Since then, we have been designing and building landscapes for Phelan Gardens customers. Earth Expressions sources the majority of their plants from Phelan Gardens, and also enjoys the referral of Phelan Gardens’ landscaping clients.
